Direct Premium Billing
Keeping You Engaged with Your Group Health Plan
Some employers allow employees, retirees, and their respective dependents the opportunity to continue to participate in the employer’s group health plan. Participation is at the employee’s own expense through a means other than payroll deductions.
Direct Bill Participation
American Benefits Group works with your employer as the administrator for this billing service. Our participants typically include:
- Employees on a leave of absence
- Employees who are on FMLA (Family and Medical Leave Act)
- Retirees who have joined an employer’s retiree health plan
Your Payment Responsibility
Direct Bill participants are responsible for paying all or part of the scheduled health plan premiums. Your employer decides on the business rules and amount that the participant pays.
If you are a Direct Bill participant, you generally will receive monthly notices with steps on how to submit your scheduled premiums to American Benefits Group. Prompt payments are necessary to continue your participation in the group health plan.
